The Healing Initiative was born from a shared vision held by Rhonda Schladand, President of the Board, and Joyce Crum, Secretary of the Board of Directors of The Young Family Foundation. Together, they saw the need for a space where the many gifted practitioners in our region—spiritual, somatic, integrative, and energy-based—could gather in true community.
At its heart, The Healing Initiative is a community-gathering space and a support system for healers. Valaterra’s land offers a rare and peaceful environment—one where practitioners can do more than rent a room or teach a class. Here, they can connect, collaborate, and feel genuinely supported in the work they are called to do.
This initiative is an expression of our deeper mission through The Young Family Foundation:to make healing accessible, to uplift those who offer healing to others, and to create spaces where people can truly flourish. The Healing Initiative is one of the most meaningful ways we live out that mission.
